Student Code of Conduct

Effective Date: July 3, 2026

Our goal is to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, experimenting, making mistakes, and helping one another grow.

Enrollment in Tech Trek Academy includes membership in a professional learning community. Every student is expected to contribute positively to that environment.

1. Be Respectful

Treat fellow students, instructors, guest speakers, moderators, and staff with respect.

Healthy disagreement is welcome.

Personal attacks are not.

2. Assume Good Intent

Everyone begins at different skill levels.

Be patient.

Encourage questions.

Celebrate progress.

3. Help Others Learn

Students are encouraged to:

  • Answer questions
  • Share ideas
  • Offer constructive feedback
  • Recommend resources
  • Celebrate the success of others

Learning together is part of the Academy experience.

4. Keep Discussions Professional

The Academy community is intended for education and collaboration.

Avoid:

  • Excessive profanity
  • Harassment
  • Political arguments unrelated to course content
  • Religious debates unrelated to course content
  • Personal attacks
  • Spam
  • Self-promotion without permission

5. No Harassment

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

This includes:

  • Bullying
  • Threats
  • Intimidation
  • Hate speech
  • Sexual harassment
  • Discrimination based on race, religion, sex, disability, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other protected characteristics

6. Academic Integrity

Students are encouraged to use AI responsibly.

You are expected to:

  • Understand the code you submit.
  • Learn the concepts being taught.
  • Avoid presenting another student's work as your own.

Using AI tools is encouraged.

Passing off someone else's work as your own is not.

7. Protect Intellectual Property

Do not share:

  • Paid course materials
  • Live recordings
  • Downloads
  • Templates
  • Slides
  • Source code provided by instructors
  • Other students' work without permission

8. Keep the Community Safe

Do not post:

  • Malware
  • Pirated software
  • Illegal content
  • Malicious code intended to harm others
  • Sensitive personal information
  • Passwords or API keys

9. Respect Privacy

Do not share another student's:

  • Email address
  • Personal information
  • Screenshots
  • Conversations
  • Projects

without their permission.

10. Professional Conduct During Live Classes

Please:

  • Arrive prepared.
  • Be respectful of everyone's time.
  • Mute your microphone when appropriate.
  • Avoid intentionally disrupting instruction.
  • Keep discussions relevant to the lesson.

11. Enforcement

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Informal warning
  • Temporary suspension from community spaces
  • Removal from Discord
  • Removal from live sessions
  • Permanent dismissal from the Academy

Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate dismissal without refund.
